If you are a singer and would like to be part of the Gloria Deo choir (adult voices) or of the Cantamus Deo choir (children’s voices), let our Music Director know.
Gloria Deo Choir
The Gloria Deo choir was founded in 2006 by Bernard Vallandingham for the purpose of learning and singing great sacred music from throughout the history of the church. From the plainsong melodies of St. Ambrose, through the Lutheran Chorales and metrical Psalmody of the Reformation and the high Renaissance polyphony of the Counter-Reformation, on to contemporary times with the music of the Orthodox composer Richard Toensing as well as works by Bernard himself, the Gloria Deo choir strives to enrich the worship of God with the best that musicians in the Church have created throughout the ages.
Deo Cantamus (Children’s Choir)
The Deo Cantamus Children’s Choir meets every Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:40 pm during the school year. The group is comprised of children ages 7 through the early teens. The children learn to use their singing voices to worship God through instruction in proper vocal techniques and experience large group singing in unison and harmony. The choir participates in worship on selected Sundays, vespers services and special ministry trips to local retirement centers. Deo Cantamus is directed by Patricia Blanchard.
